Sergey Shkarubo

Sergey Shkarubo
Was born on August 28, 1953 in Gubakha, Perm Region.

Graduated from Perm Polytechnic Institute majoring in Geology and exploration of oil and gas fields in 1980.

Worked in PermNIPIneft as a junior research scientist, and then joined MAGE as a geologist, senior geologist, key geologist, the chief geologist of the expedition. He was personally involved in marine seismic exploration in the Ob Bay, the Pechora Sea; participated in reports compilation, which led to delineation of prospective structures (Kammenomysskaya, Obskaya, Geofizicheskaya, Preobrazhenskaya, Peschanoozerskaya). In 1989-1996, participated in the marine surveys in the World Ocean and in the area of West Spitsbergen continental margin and following up processing of geological and geophysical data. Since 1997, coordinates the creation and preparation for publishing of the Russian State Geological Map sheets, covering the West Arctic shelf of Russia. He is personally involved in the development of scientific-methodological basis and mapping.

Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences. Honoured Geologist of Russia. Laureate of the Award of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology in 2005. Awarded the Medal of the Order for Merit to the Motherland of II degree.
