MAGE at the exhibition and conference "Saint Petersburg 2014. Geosciences — Investing in the Future"

From 7th to 10th April 2014 the 6th International Geological and Geophysical Conference & Exhibition "Saint Petersburg 2014. Geoscience - Investing in the Future" was hosted in Saint Petersburg.

At the conference there were represented practically all the main directions of the Earth Sciences development, including regional studies, data acquisition and analysis, modern prospecting technologies, exploration and development of deposits, as well as issues of environment protection and economy. MAGE participated in the exhibition within the Association of Geological Organizations and also presented a conference report on "Multicomponent marine seismic survey on the Arctic shelf on the Geospace technology base".

MAGE’s representatives visit to Oslo on the delegation of the Murmansk region

On the 26th of March in Oslo the Presentation of the Murmansk region was held in the reception hall of the Russian Embassy in the Kingdom of Norway – the main event of the region business mission. There were more than 100 participants from the Russian and Norwegian sides.

The visit of the delegation from the Murmansk region in Oslo has become the most large-scale event in the Russian-Norwegian regional cooperation for the last 5 years.

MAGE’s representatives took part in a round-table discussion dedicated to cooperation in the  field of hydrocarbons on the Arctic shelf. General Director G.S. Kazanin spoke on “Geological-geophysical services and new directions of MAGE’s work on shelf and World Ocean resources evaluation” and emphasized joint Russian-Norwegian cooperation projects and prospects, as well as reflected the existing problems.


MAGE at Geo 2014 in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Marine Arctic Geological Expedition took part in the 11th Middle East Geosciences Conference and Exhibition (Geo 2014), which was held from the 9th till 13th of March under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, the Kingdom of Bahrain.

About 1,700 researchers, officials, directors, chief executives, engineers and specialists from Bahrain, GCC, Arab, European and Asian countries as well as US took part. More than 130 global companies specialized in geology, geophysics, exploration and production from 21 countries presented their services.

MAGE was among the exhibitors at GEO for the first time and established new contacts with the Middle East companies.

MAGE at the workshop: Russian - Norwegian Oil & Gas Industry Cooperation in the High North (RU-NO Barents Project)

Marine Arctic Geological Expedition, represented by Gennady Kazanin, General Director of the company, and other delegates participated in the workshop for Russian - Norwegian Oil & Gas Industry Cooperation in the High North (RU-NO Barents Project).

The 1st Industry Workshop for Floating and Fixed Installations in the Arctic Region was held in St. Petersburg, Russia on 26 February 2014.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway opened a Plenary Session. In his report His Royal Highness made a point of the Russian – Norwegian cooperation importance, which at present focused on the development of the Arctic and continental shelf. The key point of the discussion was the gap between the current technology and the technologies needed for extracting oil and gas resources in the Barents, Pechora and Kara Seas.


Rosneft and ExxonMobil have evaluated MAGE’s work results

On the 26th of February 2014 in Moscow Business Centre “Zenit Plaza” was held the meeting of the representatives of Rosneft, ExxonMobil and MAGE. The purpose was to discuss the results of the project in the Kara Sea where 2D seismic was conducted by the specialists of MAGE in the previous year, under the order of the Russian oil and gas industry leader.

During the meeting Vladimir Katsanyuk and Viktor Trofimov, directly managing the project in the first, second and third Vostochno-Prinovozemelskiy license areas, together with their colleagues analyzed different aspects of work planning and performance and also pointed the way of its improvement  in future joint projects. The representatives from Rosneft (Mikhail Grudnitskiy, Alexander Hazhenets, Roman Vekshin) and ExxonMobil (Martin Jentsch, Sudarshan Singh) expressed their top management opinion concerning the results of the project. As partners mentioned, MAGE dealt successfully with the task at all points: there were no client’s claims regarding quality, or safety, or keeping terms. Foreign guests also highly appreciated upgrading of the seismic research vessel “Geolog Dmitriy Nalivkin”.
